For your information:

Overview:

Hot Tub on the Hillside is available for private group bookings between 2 and 4 people for $129  per group. You will have the freedom to make a visit on the day of your booking of up to 3 hours duration between 12pm and 8pm (during early autumn) when the tub will need to be vacated. Morning bookings can be arranged by request. For an extra $25 per group guests can arrive as early as 9am. Payment for regular bookings must be made by 8am on the day of arrival or the booking will be cancelled. Early morning bookings must be paid for by 8pm the night before.

A healthy constitution is essential as you will be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The water in the hot tub itself is approximately 40 degrees celcius but the air temperature may be close to freezing at times and wind chill can cause it to feel colder! The changing tent is 60m walk from the hot tub.

During late summer the sun will go behind the hill at about 7pm, to avoid the midday sun/heat it is advisable to visit during the evening, however depending on your schedule and the weather an earlier visit may be preferred. It will be getting dark around 9pm.

Payment is via an online service called Stripe that securely enables credit and debit card payments that will be sent as an invoice to your email address and can be paid directly therein. Stripe accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express in New Zealand. Further details and booking conditions will be provided upon making an enquiry via the contact page.

The Hot Tub

The LPG gas heated Kiwitub is drained and cleaned between bookings and will be filled with fresh clean water (treated at the tub with 60 grams of crystalline chlorine to kill pathogens) heated to approximately 39 degrees celcius prior to your arrival. You will need to remove the insulating lid which weighs about 20kg. This is best done with two people on either side of the tub.

It is possible to add additional cold water as well as to reheat the water if required during your soak by following instructions provided.

It's a cosy space to be in measuring 130cm across internally with a water depth of about 70cm. That's enough space for a person over 6 foot tall to stretch their legs right out and have water covering their shoulders. On a cold day the feeling upon entering the water is just magic!

Views stretch out to Coronet Peak on the horizon and the nearest building visible is four kilometers away. The tranquility is really something to savour and how better to do it than in a hot tub!

Facilities:

There is a tent for changing in near the parking area as well as a toilet with handbasin. Towels are provided beside the hot tub.

Drinking water is provided as well as polycarbonate drinkware including wine glasses.

Bags, shoes, clothes etc can be stored in a large weatherproof box beside the hot tub.

Directions:

Just 10 minutes drive from Queenstown, upon payment directions will be provided to find your way to the site. You will be able to drive in to within easy walking distance of the hot tub which is located a short walk uphill.

Towels and drinking water is provided but you may wish to bring other drinks and food for a picnic.
